The Legacy of Knowledge: George Wythe’s Library and Its Role in Shaping American Thought

Step into the rich legacy of knowledge of George Wythe, America’s first law professor and mentor to Thomas Jefferson. 

Highlights include:

  • An inspiring presentation by Colonial Williamsburg Nation Builder George Wythe” on his contributions to American jurisprudence and education  
  • A guided visit to the rare book room, featuring rare artifacts and bookplates
  • A guided visit to the George Wythe Room, an inspiring recreation of his historic law library
  • This event is open to both Osher Institute at W&M and the general public. Discover the enduring impact of George Wythe in this unique blend of history and scholarship
     

This fundraising event is open to Osher at W&M members and the general public. Osher Summer 2025 membership is not required.
